Padahastasana - Hand under foot pose

Introduction:

Padahastasana can also be called as Hand under foot pose. Pada means foot, hasta means hands and asana means posture or pose.

The ultimate aim of this Padahastasana is to stretch your back of the body in forward direction by grasping your feet with hands.

Procedure:

Initially be in standing position. First step is, have a deep long breath inwards by closing your eyes (To have a deep long breath inwards you got to exhale initially – makes easier). Now the second step is breath out slowly by stretching down your hands in forward direction to grasp your feet.

Now have a normal breath after the posture. You can hold on your toe or you can put your hands under feet. Do not bend your knees. Now slowly get back to normal standing position by breathing in and out. Open your eyes and feel the flow of energy in your body.

Like when you stretch or bend your body in forward direction, in fact after grasping the feet (after exhaling) try to hold on your breath for 5 to 10 seconds. Then just same as above inhale slowly and get back to normal standing position by opening your eyes.

Do it for 4 to 5 times a day.
