Generally on a field we have two ends. Depending upon the stadium we have different names for these ends. For example the ends are named in this way. They are the most common pavilion end, the race course end, the great southern end etc.

These ends play a Crucial role in a Match. Depending upon the variations in pitch the bowler chooses his end. Choosing a particular end also depends upon type of the bowler. The spin bowler may choose one end and the fast bowler may choose other end.

Lets say if there are rough areas or patches or foot marks on one end of the pitch. Then the spin bowlers love to bowl from the other end. Because the spin bowlers always enjoy bowling on those rough areas. These rough areas help spin bowlers in bounce and turn.

Similarly if there is a grass or moisture on one end of the pitch. Then the fast bowlers love to bowl from the other end. Because the fast bowlers always enjoy bowling on grass contained pitches. These grass and moisture help fast bowlers in bounce and swing.

This is how depending on variation of the pitch, the bowler chooses his end.

Now each end of the pitch or each bowling crease has two regions to bowl. They are over the wicket and around the wicket.

If a right handed bowler bowls from left side of the bowling end wickets, then that region or end is called over the wicket for the right handed bowlers. Similarly if a left handed bowler bowls from right side of the bowling end wickets, then that region or end is called over the wicket for the left handed bowlers.

Now if a right handed bowler bowls from right side of the bowling end wickets, then that region or end is called around the wicket for the right handed bowlers. You can say simply a right handed bowler is bowling from around the wicket.

Similarly if a left handed bowler bowls from left side of the bowling end wickets, then that region or end is called around the wicket for the left handed bowlers. You can say simply a left handed bowler is bowling from around the wicket.

Now if there are more rough areas in front of the crease on left side of the bowling end wickets, the leg spinners will be benefited mostly and will love to bowl from around the wicket from the other end to left handed batsman.

Because if you look at from the other end you can see more rough areas outside the off stump line, if a batsman is left handed. And thats why the leg spinners loves to bowl from around the wicket.

Similarly if there are more rough areas in front of the crease on right side of the bowling end wickets, the off spinners will be benefited mostly and will love to bowl from over the wicket from the other end to right handed batsman.

Because if you look at from the other end you can see more rough areas outside the off stump line, if a batsman is right handed. And thats why the off spinners loves to bowl from over the wicket.

Similarly slow left arm spinners loves to bowl from over the wicket from the other end to left handed batsman, if there are more rough areas in front of the crease on left side of the bowling end wickets.

So depending upon the rough areas on the pitch different types of bowlers choose different types of bowling ends.
